又一來自森林茂密的芬蘭Turku城清新樂團,blanco niño,為五個天真青年所組合(其中有Goodnight Monsters參與,也請千萬要試聽他們的歌曲20 Fingers 20 Toes),標題名為I'm working!五首歌的EP,帶來了青草鄉村與60's暖陽的煦喣旋律,而在崇尚自然的製作下也有拙拙愉悅,比方說吉他和絃總是莫名其妙地推進越來越大聲,或是演奏曲來個西部進行曲的戰鬥節奏等等,現在這五首歌可到以下兩站連結去下載.

*如果有興趣於芬蘭indie音樂體系可去One Chord to Another網站翻尋,有些樂團音樂即使不怎樣但唱片封面的設計倒是挺不錯.

Letters & Colours - Confrontation/Bigger Than Life

雪菲爾德與台北同步!!Letters & Colours首張單曲Confrontation發行日在4月18日,限量1000張在全英販售的同時,位於西門町的本小店也歡欣慶賀鞭炮中,所以先前有預訂的大家都能在此日拿到(ok,雖然星二是放晴翹班日,星三是公休日,星四上班時希望本小店仍然完整無缺),除了CD外另外還有L+C胸章,可惜的是數量超級該死的有限,只好採取先到先送政策敬請見諒,而其後L+C將在Alt Delete records的首張廠牌合輯Digital Penetratio裡貢獻Alpha一首,此曲為錄製Confrontation時同一批作品,也是交由Alan Smyth製作.

Sadhead

Tens & Units is one of 2006’s most engaging bands I’m treated to.There are four or five songs on their myspace that sits somewhere between strong emotion and pale soul,and the group’s image-grey shirts,short hair,skinny ties-exploded onto the scene with the rather addictive colours on their monogram logo.

Wish You Were Her is a melancholy number over some uptempo beats while the slightly more mid-pacer Kingdom of England and Eve’s Song,all that get right inside your head,and causing your heart quite a stir.For a breathtaking workout featuring track Adam’s Song,which has heavily resonant guitar refrain reminding us just how powerful that early Big Music was.

More stunning and out-of-the-depths vocals on the track Sadhead,sees T&U plunging even further into the ineffable melody charms with sharper rhythms,and the overall effect is they produce the most refined Post-Punk gear speaks poetically for itself.

聽不出這五人組英國新團South Street,跟NME所形容的像Oasis試著彈奏Buzzcocks的歌有什麼類似,莫非是這幾位北方小伙子臉上散發的桀傲不馴使然?還是所有樂器產生的巨大音量讓人雀躍?至少主唱用擴音器唱歌(應該吧)唱得吵而不雜,吉他清亮也懂得飆悍,貝斯和鼓更知道如何搖滾地像後龐克,這裡有6首demos外加兩首現場演唱以及訪問,可立即認識這個有可能成為未來獨立吉他紅團,South Street.

好的,有興趣於Everyday Mistakes和Kissing Mirrors的首張EP可親切地問候daifafa@gmail.com這個信箱,而若是有特別想要Everyday Mistakes早期一首Underlines的話(雖然他們表示已不再演奏此曲),請在信中特別註明,注意again,即使是demo仍相當好聽,曾被知名indiepop網站TweeNet Poll票選過當年最佳之一(只有一票,絕不是我投的),好的,第三次注意,若想要購買實品CD仍可跟本小店洽詢(或向fraction Discs直接購買),但其中Kissing Mirrors目前還未發行.

Elegant pop duo with a Brian Wilson fixation featuring Mattias Malm and Petter Utbult on their band,Everyday Mistakes from Göteborg.Their A Melody I Just Made Up EP is a fragrant gem after released on Röda Katten Records,and the charming boyishness with foot-tapping music to keep the smiles coming,also conjures up a rich harmonies band Scarlet's Well.

They are Orchestra-Pop boffins and can sing Jazz language as well,in this prodigious melodic of the EP we can hear the sun-soaked song 'Come On,Girl'(I recall the song 'Come on Eileen' by Dexy's Midnight Runners,just for the title though),optimistic janglybeat 'Like I Care' and 'A melody I Just Made Up',sapphire-like 'Graceful Ever Hands' and the last track Speed-Bosa 'Moldau',Everyday Mistakes have echoed nostalgic magic music back in this spring of 2006,rather a dramatically feeling to make a perfect sense.

瑞典Malmö電舞男子Din Stalker,與Mr.Suitcase,Pete Aries,Nicolas Makelberge最大的不同(寫到這裡發現,bedroom廠牌剛發行了新CDR單曲,竟限量30張!!只有一首就是了...),便在於有沒歌唱的分別,而Din Stalker在此般electro/techno-house的曲式中,鍵琴的運用略顯誇張是其一特色,吉他(Lidilidi)和鼓(Kristi Rus)透過四四拍的驚異轉折變奏也頗新鮮,除了Shaktar提供了新曲Dear Weekend之外,以下的個人官網們也有五首曲可以完整下載.

Having to admit Your Dark Side is on the Phone EP was storming my mind all day,by this Örebro-based Swedish septet The Second Band. Just to believe the lyrics show simple but a varigated touch upon their heartstrings,just to believe the music know how to handle a folk-pop luxury,just to believe this passionate country sound being played from the glaring instruments,and a tremor of sensation went through my ears when they fired at piano,glockenspeil,even trumpet,I'm overwhelmed by these narrative songs with a buoyant step.

Clap your hands and dance to their soul rhythm,this is inconceivable genius.

The beautiful cinematic sound of Air France,is another terrific Swedish POP five-piece band from Gothenburg,which has the song Meet Me By The Pier that reminds me of July Skies,The Snowdrops,or the single by Lovejoy out on Unpopular Records about a year ago,I even wonder the Air France is named after Blueboy single b-side(Meet Johny Rave, Sarah74,1993),what a greatly blessed with wordly meanings,a plantureux mystery in all kinds though.

Meet Me By The Pier is not only make a electro-acoustic by whistling,but also the bienaimé melody whirred past softly,the belle voix is ethereal elsewhere,that you dreamed all night by the sea,had a crepuscular breeze sank below the horizon.By whatever means this sound vision had been put inside of my brain these days,like a orgue clairete was wheezing out a delicacy tune,le sonorité dont je rêve.

And I got a message from Air France,which is described by the band themselves perfectly：

“…We repel labels just like the feathers of a swan repel the moist dew of crisp summer mornings. We enjoy the mystery of forbidden pleasures, high trails of thought and clandestine summer night time meetings by the lake. We, the five of us, started the band after bumping into each other at a fashion show for PETA at the top of Mont-Blanc, near Chamonix. The meeting grew into fondness, and now we spend our days enjoying life, making music, riding jet ski's in the archipelago, making love on the cliffs, eating too little, drinking too much, talking too fast...”

Destroying Something Beautiful

喔!我笑場了!!

正當聽著Destorying Something Beautiful所翻唱的五首曲,玩味著很文藝的團名和此人迷迷濛濛的音樂,沒想到一首翻自Cameo的Word Up竟讓自己笑場,只因原曲實在是歡樂地讓人印象深刻,若是不太了解Cameo是何人物,可以想像就如Red House Painters翻唱MC Hammer最紅金曲,保證具備反差娛樂效果.

至於其他四首翻Shirley Bassey,Death Cab for Cuties,Steve Earle和Patrick Wolf,不過就是Jamie Cameron將自己風格努力融入,來得不過不失,有興趣聽他其它創作歌曲可去他的myspace試聽.

The Answering Machine+Rosalita

想來這班曼城青年除了酒醉不忘音樂理想,也能努力付諸實行,可下載的四首不知是否是Cities and Sorries EP的全部,但除了他們自稱的Art-Pop吉他風格外,其實還帶點獨立流行的清新,特別是由唯一女團員主唱的Decadent曲,而像這類不完然走當紅新龐克路線的,還有同樣來自曼城的Nursing Home,Polytechnic等值得一聽,特別是Polytechnic,其首張單曲即將問世.

三首免費下載歌曲來自於Sing Your Life!旗下的瑞典歌手Leif Elverstig,第一曲Oh Mutineer!淡淡的爵士輕挑與復古輕快感,的確令人耳目一新,接下來的Every Warm Degree的清幽哼唱也叫人愛不釋手,而最後以演奏為主的Tenna,小點點綿密的鼓拍,也可和著踏舞,聽著這出身小鎮看似稚氣的青年,倒還聰聰明明地知道如何玩出好旋律.
