cloudberry 01

i like this idea, make cd track numbers as a1/b1/b2 just like vinyl, and 3 inch cd format is very fine too, Cloudberry Records is a brand new label from Miami to do this lovely thing for us, not far from artistic Unpopular Records or beauteous Radio Khartoum once did, anyway, the first release cloudberry 01 by Celestial which i got from the latest post, just before their long- awaited debut album out in April on Skipping Stones Records.

Andreas of Celestial always sings directly to us with angelic noise, in this tiny EP he provides two acoustic tracks as B-side with gentle magics of melancholy, all packed full of naive melodies that we love to dream to, wonderful!

year, nyu again

雖然說新年假期比往常聽了更倍增的歌曲,但無論如何也比不上這則尚待成型的消息,Will Self即將幫一個音樂單位(英國)的07年新作跨刀唸白,嗯...希望消息可成真,至於是誰答案就在本小店裡,他去年的首張專輯賣得相當sad(2張還3張?sad到自己不想知道了),所以想解謎就必須被塞貨,當然,這不是重點,重點是Will到底會講什麼,只能先嘖嘖了...

所以放完假的明天開始會寫寫新到貨(希望一定要到,希望郵局現在就開始加班),先來兩張發行的完整試聽來填數此篇blog;一個是PUNKS JUMP UP的Dance To Our Disco單曲,以及FOUND去年的Found Can Move專輯.

keeping up our vulnerability

the garlands got a very beautiful slender tune on the song You Never Notice Me, the lyric was wonderfully ambivalent shyness, the guitar sound clung to Free Loan Investments, Funday Mornings, The Tidy Ups, Talulah Gosh, Language Of Flowers et al was yet more thrilling, this Pop-Noise redolence breathed over my ears and clenched my heart entirely, just started to hum one of the wistfull melodies to keep the world supple.

I felt excited at the prospect of the new EP by Mattias and the Everyday Mistakes, Walking About in particular is extremely radiant and lustrous, like Ennio Morricone's arrangements on the docile indie-dance version if played by the vigorous Waltones, and the guitar brimmed over my heart spryly, they really really did artistic music for gleeful Swedish-pop, and I'm sure it will have proved to be a peerless hit.

as you might expect, very wonderful Popup indeed!

Another new vinyl from BBC RADIO ONE's LABEL OF THE WEEK by art/goes/pop records, Glasgow band Popup's second single Chinese Burn/Stagecoach becomes more indie-rocking sound apart from their ace pop debut, Lucy, what you trying to say?, and have to say this impressive new change had stretched it even more aggressively, which reminds me of some noisy songs by the late period of The Wolfhounds, but much more better with its own passion.

Already have numerously priases from Sandman, Losing Today, The Fly, Plastic Ashtray, Blistering Balls Out Riff Monster.....etc, as with many other recent decent 7"s like Sky Larkin, Tillmanns and Zapped By A Million Volts, Chinese Burn doesn't disappoint my shop stereo and chart very high.

今日腦中正猜春天是否到了還是,於是又想弄個mixtape來聽聽,但首先來些新樂團下載:

Chickedy & McGuffin: 不太清楚這該否為二人組的來歷,歌曲The Joke Gets Worse來得是The Fall疾走indiepop的亂糟糟爽快,相當適合簽給yellow mica廠牌.

Marcheys House: 忘了是2004還是2005時認識了這個英國樂團,一位紐約友人讓自己又去此團網頁閒晃了一下,發現似乎增加了堆新曲(6首),尤其喜愛If She Did It Once的抒情.

A Woman of No Importance: 更抒情,A Woman of No Importance的空心弦音頗能透入人心,不溫不火的主唱音也有恰到剛好的戲劇性,myspace上的3首為最新Demo 3,現已開放下載.

Brontosaurus Chorus: Brontosaurus Chorus過於年輕敦厚反而不像是從倫敦來的,樂曲節奏的清新和小提琴的迴揚更像是屬於格拉斯哥的長青血脈,兩曲中的Now We're Making Out可在樂團last.fm下載.

The State of Samuel: 也許新專輯Here come the Floods能跟My Teenage Stride的Ears Like Golden Bats抗衡比較,除了官網有The Residents of Gloom下載外,myspace也有兩首新曲可試聽,至於發行日期仍未確定,所以自己該把上一張專輯Mutiny on Mercury找出來清清耳,就在這個星日嗎?

至於自己的春天mix(沒連起來喔),一直在考慮要不要跟上最近blog流行的瘋狂上傳腳步,但還是在想想階段,而且整個聽過一遍還是覺得怪怪的,或許把The Gossip和Kate Nash放進去會更美好也不一定,管他的,曲目參考如下:

Schizo Fun Addict side:

Is it a kind of mystery about the flowing trumpet played on fake Spacemen 3 albums? Jerico Son Down by Schizo Fun Addict is feeling rather great reverberant sleepy within an inward curve of the vocal, a dim sound mooned around placidly, also reminds me of some early singles from Trial & Error Recordings, Marvelous Stuff.


The Boy From Space side:

Lounged in the Krautrock-hammock, and twined euro-disco melody into the tumbling beat, utterly cool speaking as well, Bracken Records lured us the bait of a miraculous single again.

The Sailplanes

幾天來有不少音樂東西值得貼貼,另外工作之便的關係也獲知不少3月的新發行,從late of the pier到kubichek!,從good shoes到butcher boy,從the electric soft parade到polytechnic,從this is fake diy廠牌到the futureheads自組的新廠,然而過了1月卻仍有agent simple和anthony reynolds兩張新7吋黑膠未能聽完整,且2月裡還有los campesinos!首張單曲和my teenage stride新專輯待爆發!

只好有時間再一一看狀況說說了,先來個可下載的ep們;倫敦樂團The Sailplanes的聲音雖不至於到像Sonic Youth那樣難搞,但05年首張Swoosh! EP的噪音能量確實飽滿,且男女對唱的低傳旋律有時又相當悅耳,當時想著有drownedinsound大力評薦,想說不久後也許會有正式發行,但The Sailplanes的能見度依然不高,現在樂團官網有Books About Cities EP經過註冊email即可下載,而新的The Deepest Red EP則在myspace可載too.
